For most people, The greatest tool for fixing past mistakes and preventing future ones is simple: be happy! Depression over your mistakes is the Yetzer hara's most effective tool to push you down even further. Failing and getting back up again is one of your most important jobs in the world. Did you just make the same mistake? Again? You can't afford the luxury of wallowing in your suffering. Get up and dance! Put on some wedding music and jump around like a total idiot!
